One-off registration tax
Tax paid when registering vehicles for the first-time in Norway.
VAT
Tax paid when importing vehicles, the value added tax is 25 percent of the customs value.
  

These tasks do NOT fall under the auspices of Customs and Excise

  • technical requirements and approval of vehicles, parts and equipment
  • issuance of number plates and vehicle registration cards
  • road user charges, road toll fees, driving licences, inspections
